I want to thank everyone who has offered me support in the past couple of months. Your contributions have helped me get towards the right track for recreating all of my lost work. I appreciate the patience, throughout this ordeal, with paypal and with me. I am eternally greatful, and your contributions will go towards producing new work.

Tragedy! In January of 2007, I was a victim of a robbery! I was burgled of my cameras, all of my developing equipment and my computer. This totaled about $6000 dollars in lost equipment. Worst of all, they stole the back-up of all of the work I have done over the past 5 years This means all of the photos I have ever made. All that is left of my work is here on this website, the poor resolution mini versions of the true original pieces of art. I had just moved into my apartment in Montreal, therefore, I was not insured.

Not only this, but in the coming year I had planned to publish a book of the work I had compiled over the last 5 years. Now I have lost my entire body of work, and all of the equipment and means to create more. This has been a very heavy blow to recover from creatively, financially and psychologically, with the feeling of personal invasion. However, I can not submit to this fate, and since I am a creative force all I can do is rebuild and create something out of my experiences. I had to realize that this is something I cannot do entirely on my own.

So I decided to provide the opportunity to my fans, and those who have enjoyed the work I have publicly shared for years, to help me recover the physical/financial loss, and support the future work that I will continue to create. These donations will make it possible for me to restart, rebuild and make new work and at least help replace the equipment I cannot afford to replace on my own.

I hope I have inspired people with my visions and my passion since I began to create my work and make it publicly accessible. I would like to continue to effect people with my work, and pick up where I left off before this misfortunate turn of events. I hope that the impact I have created with my work can in turn support me in this time of devastation.

Without the donation and help of others, I will not be able to afford to produce my work for at least a year or more. To show my thanks, to those who make a donation of 50 dollars or more I will send a 8x12 signed print of one of the above and below photographs (The only prints salvaged from the loss). I hope a piece of my work presents a suitable expression of gratitude to those who support my creative endeavors. To those who can't show their support financially, I appreciate the emotional support your words and enthusiasm about my work have offered me.

Update: Since March 5th, my PayPal has been going through an excrutiating verification process, putting a hold on the account, and putting a hold on the money donated to my cause. I am unable to recieve donations from paypal, and paypal is in the process of refunding all money donated. Its been months now, and I appreciate everyone's patience who has been effected. If you are interested in donating please contact me via e-mail at Mikel@toxicboy.net, we could figure out other payment options.
