Happy New Year, my Erotiphiles. Despite the set-back from last January's tragedy, this year has been quite productive for me. As creative director, and performer, I have just wrapped up the debut of a "New-Wave" burlesque troupe that I have co-found. This January, the skin-baring boys-and-girls cast of "Bad Taste Burlesque" proudly presented the "Heavy Petting Zoo", exploring the relationship between Man and Animal. As well as satisfying the cast's and my own exhibitionism, the show was far more successful than we imagined. Already making plans for our next show, which might take the troupe on the road. Do not worry, the recent burlesque success will not take priority over my first passion: Naked boys... I mean, Photography (of naked boys). Many thrilling personal and collaborated projects have already been proposed for this year. This increase in new projects has caused a slight lag in updating my gallery as I create new series. I apologize and will promise to do my best at keeping my fans informed of my upcoming projects. Without further delay, I present my new series:. "Tiger Lily" ( in digital), depicts Jacob, a young dancer from the National Ballet, Painted-up and imprinted with flowers. Both fragile and ferocious he radiates a masculine composure that resists the gentle-folded petals and the apparent gender that embodies "ballet". "Andro-" (in digital): the French-Canadian model, Krys, unites both masculine and feminine with classical and modern. The piece "Emote" from this series, was just featured at the NYC gallery, Envoy. Envoy is now my primary representing gallery. "Mercy" (in digital). Herein, I was proud to expand into the territory of the opposite sex. In this dual series, Lexie represents both Maker and Taker, as both divine tempter and Neo-Terrorist circa 1990's comicbooks. I have also added two new Self-Portraits to "Narcissism" (in digital), they are the two new ones at the very bottom. "Tiger Lily" and "Andro-" are two photo-spreads that I shot for the upcoming Androgony issue of the Chinese Fashion and Art Magazine, "Too Magazine". This should be out this spring, but I will post updates as we approach it's distribution. I am putting the finishing touches on a few more series, which should be up shortly as well. Love, Mikel |
